Three projects with different kinds of impact: shaping product strategy, bringing users into decisions, and simplifying a service that launched.
Selected work
01 / Optum Real
An AI-powered platform for complex healthcare workflows
At Optum Real, I’m shaping UX strategy for AI assistance in claims work. I’m shifting the conversation toward how people complete a task, beyond individual screens. The goal is to help users catch issues earlier and reduce claim denials. This work is still in the strategy stage.
The legacy product had little direct feedback from the people using it. I used an in-person workshop to explain the benefits and tradeoffs of recurring user research, then set the direction for the research team’s plan. That approach helped build confidence in the redesign and greater trust in our team’s role in product decisions.
Opening an account online could still mean waiting days for a mailed signature card. I led the application redesign and co-designed a flow that used the customer’s first processed check as the signature sample. That change removed a paper handoff from opening the account, while a simpler application helped customers move through the process.
My role: Application design lead and process co-designer
I’m a named co-inventor on four U.S. patents in digital banking and interface design from my work at Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase. My craft focuses on balancing simplicity and trust by reducing cognitive load, and maintaining rigorous feedback loops and security transparency.

Leadership
Building the team. Shaping the work.
My 18-person design and research organization includes three managers, with teams in the US, Ireland, and India. A key part of my leadership is mentoring people, helping them grow into leadership roles, and promoting them into management. Previously, I’ve built and led teams of up to 25 people.
Personal exploration
Building a personal AI chief of staff
I’m building a personal AI chief of staff and a team of agents to connect scattered information and everyday routines. The prototype captures the vision as I build the working system piece by piece. One agent already runs autonomously, testing a Wheel Strategy in Alpaca’s paper-trading environment with simulated funds.
